Xero unveils first Xerocon 2018 Brisbane keynotes
From 5-6th September, thousands of of accountants and bookkeepers from Australia, New Zealand and Asia will head to Brisbane for Xerocon 2018, the largest cloud accounting conference in the southern hemisphere.
Xerocon will not only showcase the latest innovations in cloud accounting, but will challenge, inspire and motivate with a stellar line up of international speakers sharing their very personal stories of hardship and success.
Here’s a sneak peak of the keynote speakers at Xerocon this year:
Mark Manson – NY Times best-selling author
Mark Manson, author of ‘The subtle art of not giving a f***’ will make his first ever Australian appearance at Xerocon in September. Delegates will be the first across the nation to hear Mark’s ‘raw, refreshing, honest truth’ on how to stop trying to be positive all the time in order to truly become better, happier people.
Known for his New York-style tough talk, Mark’s session ‘Choose Your Struggle Finding Happiness by Focusing on What Matters’ cuts to the core of what it means to be happy and fulfilled in our era of feel-good, sugar-coated crap. Mark offers an in-your-face, ruthlessly honest, bracingly funny, and refreshingly stirring wake-up call for anyone looking for real talk (and actual help).
Gill Hicks – London Bombings Survivor
Gill Hicks is known as one of the most thought provoking, powerful speakers in Australia and the UK. She is globally known as an advocate for sustainable peace and a valuable resource in countering violent extremism. Her devotion to making a positive difference was realised when she was permanently injured in the London terrorist Bombings in 2005.
In her powerful keynote, ‘What’s the Worst that Can Happen?’ Gill will explore fear. Imagine if we took fear out of living – what could be achieved? Through her extraordinary ‘lived’ experiences, Gill will challenge attendees how powerful thoughts are – as thoughts ultimately inform and lead actions. She shares what she’s learnt about herself, about humanity and what the other side of fear looks like.
Genevieve Bell – Director of the 3A Institute
Professor Bell heads the 3A Institute, co-founded by the ANU and CSIRO Data61, tasked with building a new applied science around the management of artificial intelligence, data, technology and their impact on humanity.
Join Professor Bell for a thought-provoking and engaging keynote on ‘Making Sense of Digital Transformation.’ She reminds us why human beings must remain at the core – as the object, the subject, and the regulators of new technology. It’s easy to talk about digital transformation, and what’s on the horizon with new technology. But if all we focus on is the technology itself, we won’t be as successful as we could potentially be.
Attendees will also hear from key Xero leaders including: CEO – Steve Vamos, VP Product & Alliances – Herman Man, Chief of People and Customer Officer, Rachael Powell and Managing Director of Xero AU Trent Innes.
