Xero Roadshow Australia 2019: Thrive as a digital practice
After three weeks in 19 locations, alongside almost 7,000 bookkeepers and accountants, the Xero Roadshow has come to a close for another year. Over 40 Xero team members and nine app partners took to the stage, as a total of 45 apps exhibited across the locations and 13 amazing partners shared their stories.
These events never fail to demonstrate the power of a platform, the community it creates and the fresh thinking it inspires. We have loved hearing about some of the incredible client conversations already happening off the back of these events.
Want to share the updates with your team and clients? Here are some of the highlights.
Single Touch Payroll available for all
As Australia’s leading online payroll provider, our tax software continues to set a standard for modern-day business. Our team was proud to receive applause for the demo of our elegant Single Touch Payroll solution, which is available for any business of any size.
For the estimated 400,000 micro-businesses with four or fewer staff, we also announced a standalone solution to help them remain compliant with the ATO. This Payroll-only product will process, pay and report information for up to four employees, with an expected price of about $10 a month.
New connections – including Uber for Business
As a fast-moving society, we expect things to connect – including the digital tools and apps we use everyday. We shared the news that Uber for Business has chosen Xero as the first small business cloud accounting software platform partner to integrate with in Australia and New Zealand. To read the benefits this partnership brings to you, read our blog.
Compile, send and sign client documents with ease
We also announced Document Packs will be coming to help Australian partners in their bid to organise, send and get documents signed – particularly at financial year end. As part of Xero HQ, Document Packs will give you an easy way to share documents with your clients, and will include the ability to add e-sign, powered by Adobe Sign.
We’re investing in your end-to-end efficiency
While every new update or feature can solve an isolated pain point, we explored how the real power lies in the cumulative effect. We took partners through the end-to-end efficiency of a fully digital firm, from the moment a bill is entered to the point it’s lodged with the ATO. You choose how you manage the steps to pay, reconcile, review, BAS, report, tax return or sign – and every automation or improvement adds up.
Practice tools give you the cutting edge
The efficiency of running a digital practice was reflected in Roadshow research that found firms that use multiple practice tools on Xero are reaping the benefits.
- On average, an accounting firm that used Xero for its own accounts grew revenue year on year by 9%.
- On average, an accounting firm that used Xero and one practice app grew revenue year on year by 13%.
- And it doesn’t stop there. On average, an accounting firm that used Xero and two practice products grew revenue year on year by 14%.
Go beyond Xero with our ecosystem
And of course, Xero is only as powerful as the information you connect, which is why we invited a selection of app partners to run our ‘Beyond Xero’ afternoon session – and yet more to join us as exhibitors. To learn more about the key content to come out of these important sessions, read the blog.
The modern world has moved from desktop to digital
As the government introduces new digital initiatives such as Single Touch Payroll, and consumer expectations adjust over time, it’s clear we operate in an increasingly digitised economy that has moved beyond the limitations of desktop capabilities.
Xero is here to help partners to make that journey to being a digital practice.
And there’s more to come. Keep your eyes peeled for a special campaign launching next week, here to help your prospective clients let go of the old and live in the now.
