Flexible check design & MICR printing (US and Canada)
Good news US and Canada! You’re now able to print checks having the choice of multiple print layouts, including 3-up checks. You can customize check styles using drag & drop and print MICR encoded checks on blank stock (US). Learn more about the release on our blog.
Stripe reconciliation
We’ve made Stripe reconciliation that much easier with our latest update. Now when your money from Stripe is imported as a statement line in Xero, the matching transactions are automatically selected and you can reconcile with one click. No more manual reconciliation against Stripe deposits leaves you with more time on your hands for other things. Read more on our blog.
Fixed Assets bulk update (Australia)
With the latest Fixed Assets update, users can now edit multiple registered assets at once and update in bulk. You simply download the list of assets as a .csv file, make changes to the tax section in a spreadsheet and upload those. Read more about the release on our blog.
Import into Budgets Excel Worksheet files
We released a great time saver for budget users. In addition to the existing csv formats, you can now import Excel files. This change closes the loop for you to do your reporting in Xero, export to Excel, then import the budget straight back into Xero.
Payroll updates
Employee pension tab (UK) | Payroll admins will now see a Pension Tab once the employee taxes tab has been set up. If admins are setting up a new starter or if new starters have not passed their staging date, the only thing that Xero needs to know is whether the employee is already in a scheme. If they are an existing employee and are past their staging date Xero requires the full pension history of an employee. |
Supporting NILL pay runs (UK) | Payroll admins can now post a pay run with no active employees.
The pay run will then generate a EPS as normal. |
Reverting pay run reverts (UK) | When payroll admins now revert a pay run where the assessment occurred, a popup appears explaining that the employee’s assessment will be reverted. Their eligibility status is then cleared out as well as other assessment information. When the administrator reposts the pay run they will be assessed based on their latest wages and employee pension / workplace pension settings. |
Tax multiple refund transfers for 2017 returns (NZ) | You’re now able to transfer 2017 income tax refunds to as many people and places as you’d like. Additionally, Xero generates the appropriate correspondence and updates the affected taxpayers payment reminders and payment summaries. |
Tax tables for 2017/18 (AU)
|
As part of End of Fiscal Year updates, tax tables will be updated. This will affect pay runs with a Payment Date on or after 1 July 2017. |
Mobile updates
Xero for Android
Mark quote as accepted
With this latest Android release, you now have the ability to mark a quote as accepted on mobile.
WorkflowMax for Android update
With the latest release, you’re able to assign staff to jobs and allocate tasks from your Android device. We’re hoping this becomes part of the discussion when job assignment takes place, rather than a tool to add the information after the fact. Read more on the blog.
Xero for iOS
View quotes
With the latest release, you now have the ability to view quotes. Once a quote has been selected from quote list view, quote details will be displayed as shown below.
New Sales Summary screen
Similar to web, we have introduced a new sales screen to iOS to summarise all your invoices and quotes by status on the one screen.
Archive and restore contacts
Maintain a tidy contacts list by archiving contacts that you are no longer using. To archive a contact, go to the contacts tab, select a contact, tap ‘Options’, choose ‘Archive’, then confirm by tapping ‘Archive’ again. Contacts that have been archived can also be restored if they are still in use against an invoice. Go to the invoice that uses the archived contact, tap the (i) button to view that contact, tap ‘Options’ and select ‘Restore’:
Create invoices and receipts directly from a contact
From any contact, you can now tap ‘Options’ > ‘Add new’, then select ‘Invoice’ or ‘Receipt’ to create a new invoice or receipt directly from that contact. Invoices and receipts created from a contact are automatically created with that contact pre-populated. Supported contact defaults are also applied.
90 Day Window – What’s Coming
Office 365 add-in for Xero HQ
We’re getting close! Users of Xero HQ and Microsoft Office 365 will soon be able to take advantage of the new Xero HQ add-in for Outlook on Office 365. This new integration, the first of it’s kind for Xero HQ, will enable Outlook users to save emails and their attachments directly to client notes within Xero HQ.
Banking in Explorer for Xero HQ
Coming later this month, practices will soon be able to use explorer in Xero HQ to pivot their client base by application, industry and bank connections. See which banks your clients are connected to via direct and Yodlee feeds as well as Paypal connections.
Indirect statement of cash flows (US and Singapore)
Soon you’ll have the ability to move accounts into and out of the Cash Balances group in the Direct Statement of Cash Flows. You’ll find a new Indirect Statement of Cash Flows report as well as multi-currency in both the Direct and Indirect Statement of Cash Flows reports.
