Xero Global Release Update August 2017

Office 365 add-in for Xero HQ

Accounting partners, listen up! You’re now able to make use of the new Xero HQ add-in for Outlook on Office 365. With this powerful integration, you’ll be able to save emails and any of their attachments directly to client notes within Xero HQ with just a few clicks. Learn more about this release on our blog.

Report templates in Xero HQ

Report templates are now part of Xero HQ. This means that whether you access your templates from My Xero Partner Edition or Xero HQ you will now see the Xero HQ header when working with templates. You’ll have direct access to all the other great Xero HQ features like the activity feed, improved client experience and explorer. Learn more on our blog.

Pool detail report

With the pool detail report, you can now view all the pool transactions such as additions, transfers and adjustments for a financial year. Unlike the pool summary report, this report will give you lot more detail about each event including a running pool balance.

Advancing depreciation year

We released the ability to advance depreciation either to the next month or the next FY when there are no depreciable assets. You no longer have to create dummy assets and do the workaround.

Pool Depreciation Preview

Like the book/tax depreciation preview, you are now able to view the pool values before confirming pool deprecation. Select the last day of the financial year on the Run Depreciation page and Xero will automatically show you the values.

Quote and invoice via contacts

With the latest Android release, you can now create quotes, invoices and receipts directly from a contact in Xero. Some of our user testing told us it’s the way you may prefer to work, so hopefully it makes that little positive change when you’re doing work on the go with your mobile.

90-day window – what’s coming

Indirect statement of cash flows (US and Singapore)

Soon you’ll have the ability to move accounts into and out of the Cash Balances group in the Direct Statement of Cash Flows. You’ll find a new Indirect Statement of Cash Flows report as well as multi-currency in both the Direct and Indirect Statement of Cash Flows reports.

Report switcher

With the new report switcher menu coming up soon, it’ll be super easy to switch between reports within a template. You’ll no longer need to leave the layout editor, or go back to the output view. You can zoom through your updates in one go and move onto your next task quicker. Plus, we’re introducing auto-save so you’ll never lose your work in a template again,.

Xero for mobile

Login update (Android)

Watch this space for this handy time saver coming out soon for Android. You’ll be able to unlock your phone and jump straight into the Xero app without having to enter your login details for Xero. Easy as that.

Create & revise a quote (iOS)

A quick, professional follow up will help you win more business and, pretty soon, you’ll be able to create and edit quotes on the spot. We know you’ve been hanging out for this one so, sit tight, we’re working hard to get it out the door.

Worldpay in Xero (United Kingdom & Ireland)

Taking online payments reduces the time it takes for you to get paid. We’ve added Worldpay as a payment option for your customers in Xero, making it even easier for you to engage securely and seamlessly.

Create bank rules

Wait for it! Soon you’ll be able to create a bank rule to transfer money between bank accounts. So next time you do a bank transfer between two accounts in your Xero, these will auto code for you. Simply hit ‘OK’ and move on to the next task.

Find & recode enhancements

Coming out soon, you’ll be able to easily recode manual journals. Try searching for transactions by bank account, invoice number or the reference. Cleaning up accounts in Xero will be done in no time – a great time saver to come.
