What to expect from Xerocon Sydney
In case you haven’t heard, Xerocon is back with a bang. From London to New Orleans, and soon, Sydney, this year’s event series is an international tour celebrating our partner community around the globe. Whether you’re a first-timer or veteran, it’s safe to say you can expect the unexpected. After all, it’s been coined the world’s most beautiful and innovative conference for cloud accounting leaders for a good reason. So what do we have in store at Xerocon Sydney this September? Read on for a preview.
Inspirational speakers and special guests
This year, we have a stellar keynote lineup planned. Our CEO Steve Vamos will open the event by sharing his vision for Xero, covering everything from investments and partnerships to product and platform development. After setting the scene, you’ll hear from leaders, innovators and decision-makers. They’ll explore hot topics like digital adoption and transformation, and harnessing change to drive innovation (among many others).
We have special guests in the mix to excite and inspire our audiences, like executive coach Kemi Nekvapil, and legendary footballer and social advocate Adam Goodes. We also have Chris Jordan AO, Commissioner of the ATO, joining us on the main stage. Our keynotes are spread across two days (and they won’t overlap), so you’ll have the chance to take everything in. For advisors like Vanessa Henricks of Coin Accounting, these sessions are always a highlight. In her words, “I always come away from Xerocon with so many practice-based learnings, but it’s often the special guests that inspire me. Our industry has gone through some tough years, so any motivational content will be great to absorb. In particular, I’m excited to hear from Kemi.”
Breakout sessions with plenty of practical takeaways
The back half of days one and two are dedicated to our breakouts. These presentations are education-led, meaning you’ll leave with practical takeaways and tools to put into practice. With 20 sessions scheduled, there’s something from everyone, with topics ranging from modern leadership to sustainability, eInvoicing, and blockchain technology. The best part? You can choose your own adventure by heading along to whichever sessions resonate with you most. Head here for a full rundown of the agenda and breakout themes to start planning now.
Countless opportunities to network and connect
Whether you’re bringing your whole team along or going it alone, there’ll be plenty of opportunities to network and connect at Xerocon Sydney. Like many in the industry, Julianna Nagy of Horizon Accounts has found the past few years particularly isolating. Meaning this year’s event is her chance to reconnect with the industry. She explains, “I’m really looking forward to catching up with old friends and making new ones. It’s more important than ever to be around people, especially if – like me – you work by yourself.”
If you find yourself flying solo, don’t worry – there’ll no doubt be somebody else in the same boat. Vanessa says, “A lot of people attend by themselves. So why not go up to someone and have a chat? It’s what I did at my first Xerocon, and it’s what I’ll be doing again this year.” To help you ease back into event mingling, we’ve gone ahead and arranged conversation stations and breakout spaces – not to mention our 75+ app exhibitors who are always up for a good chin wag.
The chance to let loose (and throw it back to a different era)
Dust off those shoulder pads and bring back the boom box, because the Xerocon wrap party is going back to the 80s with a neon playground theme. We’re taking over Sydney’s iconic Luna Park for one night only, all to celebrate you – our partner community. This event will surely be one for the ages, but don’t just take our word for it. Michelle Westle of Penrose Professional Bookkeeping Services in Albany says, “We rarely get these kinds of big events here on the West Coast, so I’m excited to see how Xerocon comes together. The wrap party is what everyone talks about – it’s definitely something to look forward to.” Vanessa agrees, adding, “It’s a chance to let your hair down and have a laugh. I can’t wait to see all the crazy accountants and bookkeepers let loose!” Be sure to head here to secure your spot on the dancefloor.
We couldn’t be more excited to bring the advisory industry together again to learn, connect and be inspired. With just over two weeks to go until Xerocon Sydney, the countdown is on. Until then, find out more about this year’s event here. See you there!
