Tradify: Here’s what you should do at Xerocon to get more trade clients
You’ve probably heard this 23.5 times in the past week, but here it is again: Xerocon is just around the corner! With this in mind, we’ve put down our top tips to grow your trade and construction client base and make the most of your time.
But before we start, why trade clients? Well we at Tradify (job management software for tradespeople) may be a bit biased but we believe trade businesses are one of the best groups of customers you can work with. How? There are a number of reasons, but ultimately, they know how much they don’t know. This means they know they need help with running their business and they’re prepared to let you help them (if you can earn their trust).
Back to Xerocon… we’ll just focus on day one, because that’s where the biggest gems lie regarding business advisory for the trade and construction industry. So, let’s start with the most important thing you should do when you’re there.
Come see Tradify. And the ‘other’ guys.
Curtis, Emma, Glen, Odette, Colt, Michael
Stand 11, Day one or two, 8am-5:30pm.
At Tradify, we’ve been working with trade and construction businesses for nearly a decade. So it’s fair to say we know a thing or two about tradespeople. We’ll be there to talk through how we can help your current clients and how we can help you grow your offering for the trade and construction industry.
Xero Projects, Service M8, SimPro, and Workflow Max will also be there and they’re worth checking out too because we all have different strengths. Tradify for instance is committed to offering the easiest to use app for small trade businesses. We’re not out there to win big business, but to help the smaller guys achieve their life goals – whatever reasons they started their own business.
Recommending the right apps for your clients
Nick Houldsworth, Executive General Manager – Ecosystem, Xero
Breakout stage, day one, 2:30-3:15pm
There are more apps than there are grains of sand around the world. Well, not quite, but you get the point. With many sectors facing automation and digital transformations, businesses have to adapt or they will fold, as we’ve recently seen from Kodak. From an accounting point of view, the smart are embracing this change by moving clients to the cloud, recommending apps, and growing revenue faster for clients and their practice as a result. This session is just what you need if you want to get serious about business and app advisory. The good news is Xero can help in a big way. So make sure you find out how.
App deep dive: trade and construction
Kaye Harding, Head of Ecosystem Marketing, Xero NZ
Breakout stage, day one, 4:30-5:15pm
Trade and construction clients have the lowest digital engagement of all Australian and New Zealand small businesses. You might see this a bit of road block, but it’s actually a significant opportunity. Tradespeople are typically very responsive to business improvements if they can clearly see the benefits from the outset. So come and learn all about how Xero’s tools, recommended apps, playbooks and resources can help you add greater value to your trade and construction clients, all while growing your revenue at the same time.
Some good old ‘networking’ time.
Somewhere close, day one, 5:30-7:30pm
Follow the red ‘brick’ carpet, day two, 6-12pm
As the saying actually should go, it’s not who you know but how well you know who you know. You can thank social media for that. With this in mind, it makes sense to come find people like us at Tradify to have a good yarn to, to help you get to know more about the trades. Alternatively, we could also chat about cricket, what’s potentially another season gone missing for the Warriors (us long-suffering New Zealanders), a joint Australasian currency, or dominos.
And when all this settles down and we return to work the following Monday (for those of us lucky enough to have a long weekend), we can help kick-start what could be a sizeable new revenue stream for you. Until then, why not check out the Tradify Partner Programme
See you in Brisbane. Can’t wait.
Michael Howard, Marketing Content Manager at Tradify
