Celebrating excellence in our partner community at the NZ Xero Awards
2020 highlighted the important role of accountants and bookkeepers more than ever, as COVID-19 placed a massive strain on small businesses and their communities. Accountants and bookkeepers became the first line of support for their clients when they didn’t know where or who to turn to. Through this support, the impact our partners had on small businesses and their families shouldn’t be underestimated.
We’re so lucky to have been able to celebrate this incredible work at the Xero Awards on Friday 12th February. Seeing many other parts of the world not able to come together in person, and now that Auckland is back in lockdown, we’re grateful that we had the opportunity to celebrate the excellence in our partner community in New Zealand.
We had nine award categories this year including a new category, Medium Accounting Partner of the Year, to recognise those practices with teams of up to 40.
I want to thank the judges for taking the time to review the nominations and carefully select our winners – Vic Crone (Callaghan Innovation), Phil Veal (KEA), Andy Hamilton (Manaaki), Peter Vial (CAANZ), and Gavin Lennox (The Icehouse). Thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination and who was involved in making the Awards such an awesome night.
