Celebrating 10,000 students on Xero and 10,000 bright futures
What does 10,000 mean to you? To the 10,000 students who are using Xero in their lessons, it means gaining the skills that thousands of Xero accounting partners are looking for when they hire their next graduate.
Students gain a competitive edge
On 4 September at Xerocon Brisbane, Trent Innes, Xero managing director for Australia and Asia, announced to over 3,000 accounting and bookkeeping partners that over 100 educational institutions using Xero Learn have invited more than 10,000 students into Xero to use it in their business, accountancy and finance lessons.
Xero is a leading cloud accounting solution that’s available globally. And Xero Learn is an educational tool designed to make it easy to teach financial lessons using Xero. It’s rapidly being adopted by leading educational institutions around the world.
We asked a few of our accounting and bookkeeping partners at Xerocon some questions about accounting graduates. Unsurprisingly, respondents said they hire graduates each year, but some hire graduates more than once a year.
And they said it was very important for graduates to have Xero skills, that they advertise specifically for Xero skills when looking for accountants, and some even said they’d pay more for graduates with exceptional Xero skills.
Jump on board
If you’re an educator or content creator – someone who teaches accounting, bookkeeping or other financial or business courses – and you’re looking for a support tool, then Xero together with Xero Learn is a solution that gives your students experience with up-to-date technology that’s used by thousands of employers around the world. It makes sense to give your students a real competitive edge.
For you, Xero Learn makes it easy to create, deliver and manage your lessons, and work with your students in a digital and online environment. This is a change to the way traditional education with its theoretical teaching and outdated legacy tools has operated until now.
Adopting Xero Learn means making a change, and everyone knows change is hard. All of us are busy, and having to learn something new can feel overwhelming or like a waste of time and energy when things are already working well. But it’s worth it, both to simplify your work and to do the best by your students.
Let’s face it, the world we live in today is ever-changing. In fact it feels like it’s changing more than it ever has, and technology plays a massive part in that. Embracing change and taking advantage of the opportunities it creates is likely to take you on a journey where you end up in a better place, and one that you may not have imagined possible
Thank you
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all those educators who are adopting leading technology like Xero in their lessons. The team here at Xero will keep working tirelessly to reach further milestones so that together we bring about far-reaching positive changes in accounting education.
