Asia: A Xero growth story in the making

The huge presence of our Asia partners at the recent Xerocon Brisbane 2018 had me reflecting on the exciting growth story that is Asia. Xerocon Brisbane this year played host to than 3,500 accountants and bookkeepers across Asia Pacific, of which 100 partners from all around Asia partners have made the investment to join us in Brisbane, Australia, for two full days of exciting conference tracks, networking, and most of all – fun! The spotlight on Asia has never shined brighter!

Achieving Success in the Cloud: following the footsteps of our global Xero community

Xerocon Brisbane kicked off with an exclusive event for our Asia partners, Success in the Cloud. We’d like to thank our Australian partners – JudsonKoman Accountants, Adrians Chartered Accountants, CloudTec Accountants and Business DEPOT – for taking the time to join us in two engaging and insightful panel discussions to share their journey in the cloud, ultimately leading to a digital transformation for their practice.

Building Xero in Asia

In my breakout session, Opportunities in the Asia Partner Network, I shed light on the immense growth story we have seen with our team, partners, customers, and ecosystem in Singapore and Hong Kong. 4 out of 5 accounting firms in Singapore report to having overseas clients, and opportunities for cross-border collaboration are boundless.

A Developing Ecosystem in Asia

To create a true ecosystem for small businesses, we are also deeply passionate about our add-on partners that can deliver complementary services to drive business growth. Apart from our longer-term add-on partners HReasily and MMC Convert, this year we also welcomed newer additions to the Asian add-on family – Zave, InvoiceInterchange and JuanTax. We’re even more excited for Receipt Bank who have recently announced they will be opening an office in Asia! Visit our app marketplace to browse over 700 add-ons that connect with Xero’s cloud accounting platform.

We also hosted Joyce Tee, Managing Director & Group Head of SME Banking at DBS, at Xerocon for the very first time. DBS and Xero launched our regional partnership in 2017 and we continue to work together to bring great solutions to our mutual small business customers. At Xero, we continue to focus on partnering key banks to drive customer-centric banking innovations. Our recent efforts to introduce bank feed integrations to enable customers to receive up-to-date view of their financial status is one of the many banking innovations we are aiming to deliver in the near future.

Winning in Asia

Every year, we celebrate the achievements of our Xero accounting and bookkeeping partners with Xero Awards. We cannot be more proud to have four winners emerge from Asia this year:

Asia Partner of the Year: Agere Accounting & Advisory (Singapore) and Fresh Accounting (Hong Kong)

Regional Partner of the Year: Mazars (Asia)
