Global Product news for small businesses and advisors – March 2020
We’re working hard to bring you the tools and features you need to get through these challenging times. Here are the latest product updates from our talented teams, plus a peek at what’s coming soon. We’re here to support you, so please reach out if you have any questions or need a hand.
Compliance in the cloud – UK
Xero Tax is now available free of charge to all UK accountants and bookkeepers on the Xero Partner Programme. It can help you prepare and file accounts and tax returns more efficiently, with end-to-end integration and features including fixed asset integration, Xero hotlinks, e-signing capability and more – all hosted in the cloud so you can stay productive when working at home.
Pay COVID-19 sick leave from day one – UK
We’ve implemented a self-isolation feature in payroll for our UK customers, so your employees can be paid sick leave from day one, instead of the usual four consecutive days. You’ll now have the option to select ‘COVID-19 self isolation‘ as an option when adding statutory leave for an employee.
Get bills and receipts into Xero
You can now use Hubdoc in Xero to help you understand your financial position in real time. Once you upload your bills and receipts, the data is automatically extracted and matched with your bank feed transactions.
Accept payments online
You can now add an online payment option to your invoices – either credit card payments powered by Stripe or direct debits powered by GoCardless. When you send an invoice to your customer, they can use the payment button to pay you online. They don’t need a Xero login to do this.
Improve cash flow with customer credit limits
Customer credit limits can help you improve cash flow, by letting you set credit limits for customers in contacts and view their outstanding balance when creating a new invoice. If you use new invoicing, you’ll now get an alert if you raise an invoice that exceeds their credit limit.
Access Notice of Assessment data in Xero Tax – AU
Tax agents can now receive email alerts when clients receive a Notice of Assessment (NOA) from the Australian Tax Office. Bringing NOA data into Xero Tax means you can review the information against your estimate in Xero, alert clients to the assessment and send an Outcome of Assessment report.
Set up clients faster with new templates – AU and NZ
New chart of account templates in Xero HQ will save advisors time when setting up new clients. There are templates based on entity type (such as company or sole trader) as well as tailored templates for the agricultural industry. They come pre-mapped to report codes.
Coming Soon
Track employee expenses made on a company card
We’re working on a new feature in Xero Expenses that will help you manage all employee spending in the one place. Employees will be able to choose between using company or personal funds when submitting a claim, so you can quickly identify which expenses need to be reimbursed.
