Congratulations to CPA Practice Advisor’s 2019 40 under 40 honorees

Every year, CPA Practice Advisor recognizes emerging leaders who are under 40 that are shaping the future of the accounting profession or leading the development of technology that serves the industry. This year, we’re thrilled to announce that Ben Richmond, US Country Manager and Will Buckley, Canada Country Manager have been recognized along with some of our Xero accounting partners and ambassadors. Congratulations to all of the honorees!

As 20 under 40 Influencers, Ben and Will are recognized for leading the way in developing the constantly evolving technology and firm processes that allow practitioners to be more productive, efficient, and profitable, as they build practices that will endure and thrive.

Ben Richmond, US Country Manager

Ben has been with Xero since 2013, where he joined the company in New Zealand and led the country’s national growth and global agriculture strategy. He was instrumental in launching Xero’s Farming in the Cloud solution, a catalyst for an industry to come together around how technology can transform productivity in farming. In 2017, Ben moved to Denver to become a part of the Xero Americas leadership team where he served as the Vice President of Business Growth, and was recently appointed to Country Manager of the United States. Ben is passionate about sharing his knowledge of the accounting industry within the US and abroad so more small businesses can succeed. 

Will Buckley, Canada Country Manager

Will brings more than a decade of experience across public accounting practice, corporate finance (M&A), commercial finance and technology to his new role as Canada country manager. Prior to joining Xero, he founded buckleybrown, a 100% cloud accounting practice for small business owners in Australia that has been recognized as a Xero Gold Partner. Will most recently served as Xero’s first Canadian Director and led the charge to launch Xero in Canada in 2018. Recognizing that only 9% of Canadian small businesses are using cloud accounting software, Will saw the massive opportunity for Xero to help Canadian small businesses and accountants take full advantage of the power of cloud technology. He enjoys sharing his experience in new and emerging ventures with others in Toronto’s entrepreneurial community.
