Congratulations to the winners of the Xero Americas Awards 2018!
As we kick off the new year, we want to spotlight the achievements of our bookkeeping, accounting, and ecosystem partners recognized in the Xero Americas Awards 2018.
We’re grateful to everyone involved in the Xero community and want to thank you for your ongoing support. And, we’d like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to all the winners!
This year’s awards were judged by select Xero executives, along with Ranica Arrowsmith, technology editor at Accounting Today. She notes what set the winners apart during the judging process:
“The entrants this year all showed tremendous dedication to their clients, and they made it hard to choose a winner. The winners this year understand how technology can transform the way businesses work, but also show a love for the accounting profession, and are committed to growing its value with the help of technology.”
Introducing the 2018 winners:
Rewiring the Economy Through Service
This award recognizes an individual or firm that has shown a commitment to their community and rewiring the economy through pro bono or volunteer work to underserved businesses or individuals in need. This year’s award went to Acuity.
Founder and CEO Kenji Kuramoto launched AcuityCares to provide free accounting services for nonprofits and the free CFO Office Hours program, which provides underserved small business owners and entrepreneurs with financial advice. He also has a long history of service with Xero as a Xero Hour host and XPAC alum.
100% Cloud
This award celebrates a partner who has shown innovation through the use of 100% cloud technology. This year’s award went to McRally LLP Chartered Accountants.
A 100% Xero firm, partner Quan Ly refers to their approach to cloud accounting as “humanized automation.” By using Xero, XPM, Workpapers, Karbon, Receipt Bank, and Practice Ignition, McRally has built a scalable practice that provides real-time cash flow insights to their small business clients. Leveraging cloud technology for efficiency frees up McRally’s team to provide top end client service.
Bronze Partner of the Year
This award recognizes an exceptional bronze level accounting or bookkeeping practice that uses Xero to offer continual value and innovation to clients. This year’s award went to T3 Bookkeeping.
Founder Trinity Scott uses Xero HQ to develop a central base for all client notes, which she can access anytime. While she hails from a small town in Texas, Trinity is trailblazing the way with Xero. Trinity is never one to miss a Xero event, whether it’s a live-certification, pre-con session, Xero Hour, or Xerocon, and has been known to drive for hours to make sure she’s in attendance.
Silver Partner of the Year
This award recognizes an exceptional silver level accounting or bookkeeping practice that uses Xero to offer continual value and innovation to clients. This year’s award went to Fast Easy Accounting.
Fast Easy Accounting uses all of Xero’s Practice tools and markets their firm to construction contractors so they can easily sign up for Xero services. The entire staff is also Xero certified and has developed web pages, Facebook ads, podcasts, and a referral program that promotes Fast Easy Accounting + Xero.
Gold Partner of the Year
This award recognizes an exceptional gold level accounting or bookkeeping practice that uses Xero to offer continual value and innovation to clients. This year’s award went to MATAX.
For the third year in a row, MATAX is recognized for providing insight and forethought to their clients in addition to bookkeeping. They provide Xero training and customized guides for their clients’ business processes. Founder Dawn Hatch is deeply involved with Xero as a Xero Hour host, local ambassador, and XPAC alum.
Platinum Partner of the Year
This award recognizes an exceptional platinum level accounting or bookkeeping practice that uses Xero to offer continual value and innovation to their clients. This year’s award went to ConnectCPA.
ConnectCPA utilizes Xero HQ to track team members and clients, re-assign staff, and integrate with apps like Hubdoc, Receipt Bank, and Plooto. The firm’s staff is also required to complete Xero certification as part of the onboarding process. Co-founders Mike Pinkus and Lior Zehtser are local ambassadors who participated on the Xero Roadshow panel in Toronto and spoke at IPBC in Calgary.
Emerging Partner of the Year
This award celebrates a Xero accounting or bookkeeping partner that uses Xero to offer continual value and innovation to clients and shows the potential to deliver increasing value-added services to clients. This year’s award went to Teed Saunders Doyle.
After attending Xerocon in Atlanta, Teed Saunders Doyle began the transition to online accounting. As one of the few firms in its local market that uses cloud technology, Teed Saunders Doyle has been recognized as a Xero Champion. Teed Saunders Doyle has truly embraced technology through ecosystem apps like Hubdoc, Receipt Bank, Expensify, MileIQ, and Shopify.
App Partner of the Year
The winning app partner demonstrates a high level of customer satisfaction and commercial success from January 2018 to date. The award also highlights continuous improvement in areas like customer care, design, quality, functionality, and technical innovation. This year’s award went to Gusto.
Gusto’s partnership with Xero combines the power of our global accounting platform with their full-service payroll solution. With single sign-on, cash flow management, and accountant collaboration, working between Gusto and Xero is seamless. Gusto also provides world-class customer service that ensures Xero customer needs are always met.
Emerging App Partner of the Year
This award celebrates an emerging app partner who demonstrates a high level of customer satisfaction and commercial success. This year’s award went to G-Accon.
G-Accon integrates Google Sheets with Xero and synchronizes data in both directions. By connecting to Xero Accounting, Payroll, Projects, and Assets, users can extract live data and reports, while powerful automation features include auto-refresh, emails, backups, and alerts.
Industry Specific App of the Year
The winning app partner addresses the needs of a distinct industry and demonstrates a high level of customer satisfaction and commercial success. The award spotlights continuous improvement in areas like customer care, design, quality, functionality, and technical innovation. This year’s award went to A2X.
A2X automates the complex and challenging task of accounting for Amazon marketplace sales and fees, and reconciling their net payments received from Amazon. From the Xero Community, A2X has earned a 5-star rating from 99 reviews. Because A2X manages multiple currencies beautifully, it addresses the main pain point for sellers in the global marketplace.
