Don’t miss the Xerocon London 2018 keynote speakers
Thousands of accountants and bookkeepers from the UK, Europe and further afield will head to Xerocon London 2018 on 14-15 November for the world’s most beautiful and innovative conference for cloud accounting leaders.
This year we have a stellar line up of world class speakers, including industry professionals, business leaders and innovators who will share their stories of hardship and success, which can be applied to your business and personal life. With just two weeks to go, here’s a sneak peek of the guest keynote speakers at Xerocon London this year.
Sir Chris Hoy MBE
6 x Olympic Champion and 11 x World Champ track cyclist
As an eleven-time world champion and winner of six Olympic gold medals, Chris Hoy is Britain’s greatest Olympian – alongside his former teammate Jason Kenny. Joining the national track cycling squad aged 20, Chris became the first Brit in a century to win three gold medals in one summer games. Chris explores the gruelling physical and mental aspects of elite competition, the highs and lows of competitive cycling, and both the agony and ecstasy of pushing yourself to the limit.
Lucy Adams
CEO, Disruptive HR
Lucy Adams was the BBC’s HR director during one of its most turbulent periods. As the organisation dealt with a series of very public crises and scandals, she faced a torrent of criticism for her decisions and actions. Lucy draws on her experience there and in other senior HR roles in talking about why delivering change isn’t always popular, and why many accepted ideas of leadership aren’t up to the job. She brings fresh perspectives on HR and employee management as well as addressing how to deal with public scrutiny and adverse publicity.
Gerd Leonhard
CEO, The Future Agency
From two decades of travelling the world and speaking about future scenarios across many industries and cultures, futurist Gerd Leonhard has acquired unique foresight and intuition into where the world is rapidly going. As one of the world’s top-rated futurists, he is a leading voice on a wide range of topics including digital transformation along with the opportunities and challenges of AI, big data, and automation. Gerd is the author of ‘Technology vs Humanity’ and a host of the web-tv series ‘The Future Show’.
Ben McBean
Inspirational speaker, former Commando and double amputee
In 2008, Ben McBean stepped on a landmine. His injuries were so bad, he wasn’t expected to survive. He became a double amputee and decided to invest his compensation from the Ministry of Defense in property. He’s now turned his initial investment of under £300,000 into a £2m portfolio. Ben tells a story of great courage and determination. He says that the biggest part of his rehabilitation is his resilience: “I’m alive, aren’t I? I’m the same person. I’m just missing two limbs, which I lost fighting for my country. How can I complain about that?”
Louise Minchin
Broadcaster, Author and Triathlete
Starting in radio, Louise is now the face that most Brits wake up to on early morning breakfast TV. She has previously anchored news bulletins on BBC 1 and the News Channel, presented sports shows, played a cameo (as herself) in Spooks and managed to get ejected from Hell’s Kitchen – even though she wasn’t a contestant.
Louise is the author of Dare to Tri, the story of how an article on cycling for BBC Breakfast led to a passion for the sport, and then an obsession which culminated in her representing Britain at the World Triathlon Championships.
Xerocon London attendees will also hear from key Xero leaders including Xero CEO Steve Vamos, Managing Director Gary Turner and Chief Partner and Product Officer Anna Curzon.
