Behind Your Business competition winners announced

At the Xero Roadshow, I was lucky enough to announce the launch of our Behind Your Business competition. We gave small businesses and their advisors the chance to be featured in local, co-branded Xero advertising.

We had hundreds of incredible entries into the competition and read many stories about the wonderful humans that run and advise the UK’s small businesses. Thank you to everyone who entered! We wish we could choose more winners, but there could only be three.

Today I’m excited to announce the three Xero partners and their clients who will receive a #BehindYourBusiness video. And each winner will receive £5,000 worth of local co-branded Xero advertising.

A bit about our winners

3D Oak Limited and C H Accountancy & Bookkeeping

After 34 years in joinery, 3D Oak director Darren Dack turned his profession into a passion. He set up a friendly timber oak frame supplier based in the heart of Essex. Darren says the key to his success is having happy clients. And he plants an oak tree for every building his business supplies.

Cheryl Price, founder of C H Accountancy & Bookkeeping, is Darren’s accountant and an expert on Xero. Darren loves working with Cheryl, and says her and her team have helped him through his accountancy requirements with a high level of expertise, and has made joining Xero a breath of fresh air.

Moss Valley Fine Meats and Shorts Chartered Accountants

Moss Valley Fine Meats is an award-winning local butchery in the heart of Moss Valley, on the outskirts of Sheffield. It’s an on-farm butchery, and only carefully selected breeds of pigs pass through it. It’s a real farm to fork experience, so people know where their food comes from.

Moss Valley Fine Meats has been working with Shorts for many years, and have recently moved to Xero. The business spent years supplying Shorts with their accounts in a brown leather suitcase and had their accounts produced at the end of the year. They say moving to Xero was the best back-office decision they’ve made, because they can now see how they’re doing and are more self-sufficient.

Otterton Mill and Bishop Fleming

Otterton Mill is a visitor destination in the picturesque village of Otterton, nestled on the banks of the River Otter. It’s a working watermill, dating back to 1068, as well as an artisan bakery, award-winning cafe, gallery and craft centre, west country food shop and a unique live music venue. At Otterton Mill, no two days are the same.

Mark Smith from Bishop Fleming has helped bring Otterton Mill’s accounts and all the important elements of facts and figures to life through Xero. They can now see quickly and clearly where they are with their finances.
