Nei Ho from Xero Hong Kong
Xero is officially expanding our presence to Hong Kong today, and we are thrilled to be calling this colourful and diverse concrete jungle our second home in Asia!
Following the establishment of two monumental partnerships with HSBC and DBS in Hong Kong last year, we have been ramping up support to local small businesses and accounting partners.
In the past year, I have witnessed exhilarating demand coming from Hong Kong’s small business economy. In 2017 alone, USD 7.9 billion worth of transactions were processed through Xero in Hong Kong. It comes as no surprise given the city is home to more than 330,000 SMEs, which accounts for over 98% of the total number of local enterprises! Making our official launch in Hong Kong comes as a natural step in our business roadmap, especially at a time where small businesses and accounting professionals are increasingly looking for savvier technological solutions to resolve business pain points.
I am very proud to introduce you to our new team in Hong Kong.
- Our Partner Consultant, Sarah Foo, has extensive experience working in corporate tax reforms and tax technology across Asia Pacific, including New Zealand, Shanghai, Singapore and Hong Kong while at KPMG. Her notable expertise will benefit our accounting partners as they begin the transition to move their internal reporting processes onto Xero.
- Our Senior Account Managers, Vincent Gin and Charlie Lam, will be assisting our accounting program partners in keeping up with technological adoption and becoming an advisor of choice for their customers through Xero’s latest cloud technology.
- Our SME Sales Specialist, Polly Liu, knows the Hong Kong tech start-up scene like the back of her hand. In conjunction with her background in accounting, she is your go-to expert in helping small medium businesses grow and thrive.
This is an exciting time for us as we see a great deal of opportunities for small businesses in Hong Kong, including increased government funding, the promotion of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Greater Bay Area development. With our people now finally on the ground after months of planning, we look forward to enabling our accounting & bookkeeping partners and helping more Hong Kong small businesses in seizing opportunities through the support of our cloud-enabled accounting platform.
