ASL is a leading accounting, audit and advisory practice based in Cape Town. It handles the full financial lifecycle of its clients from initial set-up through to succession planning. It has grown to 80 staff members since founding in 1998.

“Normally business administration and accounting are perceived as arduous tasks, but we truly believe that a new way of doing things is upon us.” said ASL director, Arnold Scholtz.
Automation and collaboration
ASL adopted Xero to streamline their own processes and put them in better control of their clients’ accounts.
Arnold continued: “Xero is beautiful, easy to use and automates all of the mundane tasks associated with bookkeeping.”
“Now our clients have time to work on their business instead of just working in it.”
Larochelle Sephton, cloud specialist at ASL, commented: “What I love most about Xero is how easy it is to assist and collaborate with our clients.

Attracting and retaining talent
Speaking of the impact that Xero has had on the ASL team, Arnold explained: “Our staff are very energised when we talk about Xero and our cloud offering. The fact that we are embracing the machine learning environment and Artificial Intelligence as a business is very encouraging to them.”
Lastly, Arnold concluded: “Xero has a different way of doing things; they’re not just another boring accounting package.”
