Xerocon Melbourne is the main event in Australasia’s accounting-technology calendar, and it’s just around the corner. As well as being packed with info sessions, keynotes and product news, it’s a chance to get face-to-face with the best apps our marketplace has to offer.

This year, 70 app partners will take the floor in our main hall. Whether you’re looking to work smarter or offer greater value to your clients as a connected advisor, here are some tips to get the most value out of the opportunity.

Learn how apps can revolutionise your practice

From offering more value to your clients – such as making payments easier to collect – to giving you extra hours back in your day, apps can diminish pain points and supercharge a business.

Looking to automate your paperwork? That’s where apps like Receipt Bank and Hubdoc come in. Need to make a tricky switch season a breeze? Our conversion partners can help. What’s more, there’s a choice of reporting apps and practice tools to help you become a more connected, informed and knowledgeable advisor.

Do your homework

To narrow down your focus, think about the needs of your clients and the apps they’re using right now. XeroHQ, which is about to become the most important software tool in your practice, is a great place to start.

The Explorer tab can help you identify the industries and apps your clients work within, so have a play around. Seeing a lot of Vend clients? Visit their stand to get deeper insights of what the app has to offer. Got loads of tradies on your books? Ask the invoicing and job tracking apps how they can help your clients cut their admin time and boost efficiency.

Arrive with a plan

The first, at Uni Day, is here to help you simplify app selection for your clients. It will go into depth about XeroHQ and introduce a recommendation matrix, brought to life through a panel discussion.

Our second session – at 2.30pm on Day 1 – is called Taking Clients Into the Cloud.
