Announcing Xero’s new Head of Accounting!
Xero has been hitting some incredible milestones over the past 12 months. We recently announced we’d reach more than 1,000,000 customers using Xero, with more than a quarter of a million those customers are based in New Zealand. That is incredible when you think of the size that their support network must be. Business advisors, accountants, and bookkeepers are integral to their success, and bring a huge amount of value to our country’s small business economy.
To support those key accounting and bookkeeping partners who help to keep the business cogs turning, I’m thrilled to announced the appointment of Sue Pak as New Zealand’s Head of Accounting. This is a role dedicated to listening and supporting our partners as they navigate their way through cloud services, industry change, and taking on new opportunities.
Driven by her passion for lifelong learning and helping businesses thrive, Sue Pak has spent the past nine years at Xero connecting with accountants, bookkeepers, trainers, and key stakeholders.
Sue is a Fellow of CPA Australia and has been a member of Chartered Accountants ANZ for over 25 years, with many years of experience as an accountant prior to her time at Xero. Using her diploma in teaching while leading Education and Enablement at Xero, Sue has most recently been working as New Zealand’s Education Director (a role she’ll continue part-time), becoming an integral part of Xero’s leadership team.
About the Head of Accounting role, Sue says:
- “I’ve worked alongside partners, heard their pain points, watched them consider new ideas, watched some grapple with change, and have even made life long friends. With a huge respect for what our accounting partners do, I’m keen to listen, hear their stories, investigate new areas where we can assist, and to understand our partners vision for their future, especially as technology continues to change the game.”
Since receiving fantastic feedback about Melanie Morris’ appointment as our New Zealand Head of Bookkeeping, I am confident that Sue will be able to offer significant value as an advocate for our accounting partners. I can’t wait for her to get started.
