Fudge Animation: How we brought our idea to life

Ever wanted to start or expand your business but need the funding to make it happen? Dan Weaver of Fudge Animation did. He dreamt of starting his own animation business, so he applied for a Start Up Loan through Virgin StartUp.

Fast-forward to today and the business he co-founded with James Hill, Fudge Animation, has worked with huge brands such as Disney, the NHS and Samsung – and set up an office with their own studio.

Virgin Startup Loan

Dan took out a £25,000 Start Up Loan through Virgin StartUp to move his idea forward. On top of the funding, they’ve been featured as a business of the week on the Virgin StartUp website. Importantly, they have also been matched with a business mentor.  This support during the first year has also given them the opportunity to work on a project with Virgin.

In this video, Dan and James describe their journey from idea to business, how the Virgin StartUp loan helped them get off the ground and how they use Xero online accounting software to stay on top of their finances.
