BDO Canada reaches Xero platinum partner status
As we make our way through January, I’ve been reflecting on Xero’s progress in Canada and all the exciting developments that lie ahead in 2021. I’m constantly reminded that it’s never been a better time to be part of the Canadian accounting and bookkeeping community.
Looking back on 2020
We’ve strengthened our investment in Canada by announcing our Toronto office as our new product and technology hub, recently appointed Faye Pang to Canada Country Manager, and delivered Xero pricing plans in Canadian dollars.
Despite the changes our team adapted to during COVID-19, we continued to find new ways to gather our community and define the future of accounting in Canada. Last year, the Canadian events team pivoted during COVID-19 to help facilitate two massively successful virtual partner events in 2020; Xero Kickstart and Xero Roadshow which translated into over 2,000 accountants and bookkeepers joining across five virtual events.
Celebrating new partner milestones
Even during a tumultuous year, we’re proud of partners like BDO Canada who have become our latest platinum partner in Canada. As one of Xero’s largest global customers, BDO recently onboarded in Canada where they’ve seen rapid traction with Xero in their firm across their SME client base, and with particularly strong traction in their restaurants and franchise sector portfolio.
As restaurants were faced with uncertainty and COVID-19 restrictions, the BDO team guided their clients through this troublesome time in the industry. By leveraging the Xero platform, they delivered real-time and accurate financial insights for national franchise brands such as McDonald’s. The trusted advice from BDO helped make sure franchise owners understood their daily financial position and provided trusted guidance toward the new and complex eligibility and application process for the Canadian Emergency Wage Subsidy. BDO’s professionalized bookkeeping services underpinned by Xero allows clients to spend less time on the backend financials and more time running their day-to-day operations.
BDO’s Outsourcing Services division works collaboratively with clients to understand their challenges. With the Xero platform, they can offer customized bookkeeping and accounting services, which lightens the load for clients so they can concentrate on doing what they do best.
Connecting with the community
Success stories like BDO’s drive us each day so we can enrich the lives of accountants and bookkeepers across Canada. We’ve always prioritized these partners as our platform’s most important allies and place them at the center of everything we do. The Xero community we’ve created throughout Canada is built on these values and enables us to stay focused on solving real human problems. We want to help our advisors grow with their business and fit Xero into their world in a powerful and seamless way.
We welcome accountants and bookkeepers to join us and become part of the Xero journey in Canada. Learn more about the latest updates for the Xero community in Canada here.
