Helping our Xero community care for their mental health
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the financial fallout on small businesses has been well documented. It’s time to pay equal attention to the emotional toll on small business owners who will collectively fuel our economic recovery.
According to Xero’s recent survey, 2020: A Wake-Up Call for Employee Mental Health, COVID-19-related stress has been more damaging to employee mental health than the political climate, personal finance troubles and workload.
At Xero, people come first. Amidst all the challenges brought on by COVID-19, it is more critical than ever that business owners and their advisors stop to think about the mental wellness of themselves and their people.
Xero and Shift Collab offer mental wellness sessions
In response, we’ve teamed up with Shift Collab to offer a series of mental wellbeing workshops for our accounting and bookkeeping partners and our small business clients.
Shift Collab specializes in offering training that blends clinical excellence with management best practices, making each session empowering and immediately useful to attendees. Topics are focused on underlying challenges that have been exacerbated during COVID-19.
The first session on ‘Managing Overwhelm’ is designed to help attendees better navigate how they respond to stress. The 60-minute workshop will provide tactical strategies that can help attendees understand the ‘thought traps’ that perpetuate stress, self-evaluate daily stressors at work and home, strategies to address the highest everyday stressors, and more.
